Don’t forget about the needs of remaining employees and managers

In a recent survey of HR professionals in public and private organizations around the country, we discovered that most are forgetting to include a plan for the employees and managers who stay after a layoff or restructuring event. These companies are feeling the ill-effects of layoffs and restructuring events, including:

  • Negative impact on the employer brand
  • Problems with talent acquisition
  • Lack of motivation and confidence amongst employees
  • Loss of productivity and engagement

The reasons are clear. Organizations lack the capacity to track their social media channels, alumni sentiment, and the emotional state of remaining employees and managers.
